Ryan is the captain of the team and leads by example. He is an old fashioned centre half, very strong in the air and in the tackle. However, when bringing the ball out of defence he uses it well and finds his own players. His strength in the air is always a threat at set pieces and Ryan normally notches up a few goals throughout the season.
